How to Pair Comfort Foods with the Best Drinks?

By JP Events Staff

September 11, 2018

Your Nashville wedding is, well, a completely unique moment in your life – so yes, you want to make sure every single element is flawlessly incorporated into an event you will remember forever. Even more, you want to make sure your guests remember your Big Day for a lot of time from now on as well – and great food is definitely one of the best ways to do this.

Since comfort foods are so popular at weddings these days, we thought you could use a bit of information on what are some of the most appreciated ones – and what are the drinks to associate with them. So, if you want to find out more about this, be sure to read on.

  • Burgers. Nobody can refuse a good burger – regardless of whether it’s a full-sized version or an adorable mini version. If you want to make sure your burgers “flow” nicely, pair them with a good bottle of beer – maybe even something local or artisanal. If you think beer is too casual, some sort of bourbon will do the trick as well (especially good if the burger has any kind of smoked ingredients in it). As an extra tip, keep in mind that the same goes with hot dogs as well – beer is just the best drink to pair with these no-frills comfort foods.
  • Fried chicken. Another staple comfort food, this particular dish is the kind that will be appreciated by every single guest. To make sure kids can eat it too, remember to include a spicy and a non-spicy version as well. As for the drink that works best with this kind of food, well, a bottle of cola and a touch of rum can really complement it nicely!
  • Doughnuts. They may not be savory, but doughnuts are a great treat idea to include in a wedding, no matter how casual or elegant. If you want the perfect drink pairing for your doughnuts, be sure to provide guests with a variety of coffee and hot chocolate. This is absolutely perfect for a late fall or winter wedding!
